The biggest question in the golf world right now is: When will Tiger Woods return to the PGA Tour?
Some people seem to think he'll make his 2010 debut at the Masters. I don't agree. I think he'll pick a tournament prior to the Augusta major.
Can you imagine the hullabaloo and chaos that would result if Tiger came back in Masters week?
He's shown us that he's not too smart in some areas, but he's not dumb enough to face the media mob at the Masters in his first tournemant start of the year.
If I were making out Tiger's schedule, I'd have him debut at the Northern Trust Open in Pacific Palisades April 4-7. That would take care of the huge media onslaught he's going to face.
Then I'd send him to the World Golf Championsship event in Marana, Ariz., Feb. 18.
The pressure and the glare of the spotlight should be lessened after that and he can concentrate on playing golf. Then he can enter the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Fla. March 25, taking off the following week to prepare for the Masters April 8-11.
Tiger's going to have to face the music to his macabre dance sonner of later. He might as swell get it over as soon as possible.
Anybody out there think of a better scenario?
